THE ONLY 'TIME' IS NOW ...
'If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?' As Lewis Carroll's Alice said.
But the world that Alice describes is no fairytale make-believe. It is right here. You are living 'in' it.
All the five-sense illusions - like the belief that life-changing, society-changing events are random and not manipulated to a long-planned outcome - are merely sub-expressions of the greater illusion about who we are and where we are.
Once we fall for the prime illusion all other illusions tend to follow and at the heart of them is our belief in the reality of 'time'. When I first heard the statement 'there is no time', I knew instinctively it was true, but I just couldn't get my 'mind' around it.
Once I went out of my mind to the Consciousness 'beyond' I could immediately understand how there was no time when there certainly appears to be. The mind is the key. It should be serving Consciousness, but it has become, within this five-sense realm, the master of our perception.
In that one sentence you have the reason why the 'world' is as it is and not as it could be with Consciousness at the helm.
We are Infinite Consciousness having an experience in this reality and the interface between Consciousness in its widest sense and the 'world' we are experiencing is what we call Mind.
We are Infinite Consciousness having an experience in this reality and the interface between Consciousness in its widest sense and the 'world' we are experiencing is what we call Mind.
We talk about my mind and your mind and his or her mind, but I would suggest that they are all expressions of the one Mind that provides the connection, the interface, between Infinite Consciousness and the realm of the five senses or illusory 'physicality'.
You may be a New Ager or a Wall Street banker and on the surface you may seem very different, but if you are in mind and not Consciousness you will be expressing your reality, albeit from different points of observation, through the same one mind. The Mind, I will call it.
The Mind is what constructs the 'personality' that we think is 'us', the one with the name and the reflection in the mirror. But this is not who we are, it is what we are experiencing. It is the way we confuse the two that makes the world as it is and our 'lives' as they are.
Eckhart Tolle, author of The Power of Now, talks about what he calls mind-made people or mind-made stories that are often referred to as 'life-stories' or 'my life'. He is right. Indeed, we live in a mind-made world that has lost touch with its real self - Consciousness.
This is why I keep saying that unless there is a shift out of thinking by mind to awareness by Consciousness nothing can change. What we have perceived as 'change' in the 'past' has been an exchange of personnel between different aspects of the same Mind.
Therefore, things have sometimes appeared to change on the surface for a while, but in the end you realise that nothing has changed in truth because the same underlying assumptions behind the 'old' are dictating the perceptions of the 'new'.
Only the way the story plays out changes, often marginally, because that which is dictating the perception of reality - The Mind - is the constant force behind 'before' and 'after'.
A topical and excellent example is the 'change' between Bush and Obama. The words (surface realm) have appeared to change, but underneath everything is the same or worse because The Mind, the same perception pattern, controls Obama and co as much as it controlled Bush and his neocon network.
Real change will only come when we move out of domination by Mind into Consciousnesses. Mind is the realm of 'thought', a very low-level of perception, while Consciousness is the Infinite ocean of 'knowing', which makes thought/mind/ intellect, look like the village idiot.
'If it vibrates, it's illusion'.
Consciousness - pure love in its deepest sense - is both silent and still. It is Infinite potential, All Possibility, the All-Knowing One in awareness of itself. Some ancient writings have referred to this as the 'Void'.
This is the origin of Love in its purest expression. Love is in the stillness and silence of the Void.
The 'in'-love state that we misunderstand to be 'Love' can have a vibration, yes, because it resides in the realm of vibrational form. But Love in the Infinite sense is in the stillness and silence that pervades everything and therefore does not have a vibrational calling card.
You can't put that Love into bottles of water and sell them at inflated prices. It is something you have to access by your own state of being.
The 'Void' is silent because it is All-Knowing and thus does not need the chatter of 'thinking' and 'working it all out'. Mind does that, not Consciousness. Everything exists as potential in the silence. When sound is introduced it ceases to be all possibility and becomes a possibility.
It is the manifest world of sound, form, 'things' and The Mind that everything vibrates. We 'live' in (perceive) a Universe based on vibration that the five senses decode into electrical signals for the brain to further decode into this holographic illusory 'physical' world that only exists in our brain/mind.
That's fine, it's an experience, no problem. But our perceptions of self and reality have become so locked into the illusory realm of form that we have disconnected from an awareness of our true self - Consciousness beyond the illusion. In short, we have become mind-controlled - controlled by The Mind.
This has fundamental implications for everything. Would Consciousness go to war? Of course not. Mind does that. Would Consciousness have billions suffering through lack of food and resources in a world of plenty? Of course not. Mind does that. Would Consciousness - Oneness - create religions to enslave perception and fight for supremacy? Of course not. Mind does that.
And so it goes on, and on.
The Mind perceives and presents everything as apart from everything else. It is the realm of 'you' and 'me, 'us' and 'them'. Within that misguided view of reality lies the fantastic potential for conflict and division and that's why we have precisely that. It is all the construct of The Mind and it enslaves us in its vibrational web unless we choose to become conscious and see through it.
One definition of Consciousness is self-awareness, awareness of one's own existence, but I don't agree and certainly not in the sense that I am using the term Consciousness here. The Mind has self-awareness, but it is not conscious in the way that I experience that state of being.
Humanity as a whole is self-aware (to an extent) but not conscious and that explains everything about the world we experience. However, this is changing and will go on doing so.
One of the key ways that we fall into the illusion of Mind is through a belief in the existence of time. It is appropriate that the White Rabbit followed by Alice was obsessed with time - 'Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!
We are completely welded to time in our perceptions of reality. 'What's the time?' 'Is that the time?' 'I don't have the time.' 'Have you got the time?' 'Time waits for no man.' How many 'times' a day are you aware of what the 'time' is?
But here's the funny bit. There is no time. It is an illusion of mind. There is only the NOW of Infinite Consciousness, All Possibility.
It is the illusion of time, of course, that creates the illusion of past and future. These, too, are mind constructs. There is no past or future, only NOW. Everything happens in the NOW and nothing happens outside the NOW because there is nothing else.
What we can - and do - get trapped in, however, is the belief and perception of past and future - 'time'.
Okay, question: where is the past and where is the future?
The usual answer is that the past is what has 'happened' and the future is what is yet to 'happen'.
Fine, but where are they? When is the only 'time' that you can experience anything, past, present or future?
In the NOW.
Where are you when you think of the past?
In the NOW.
Where are you when you think about the future?
In the NOW.
They are Mind constructs, not locations. They are beliefs constructed in the NOW and it is that belief which gives them the appearance of existing, being tangible. They are not. They are tricks of The Mind.
This is how a near-death experiencer described reality 'outside' of the body:
'... everything from the beginning, my birth, my ancestors, my children, my wife, everything comes together simultaneously. I saw everything about me, and about everyone who was around me. I saw everything they were thinking now, what they thought then, what was happening before, what was happening now. There is no time, there is no sequence of events, no such thing as limitation, of distance, of period, of time, of place. I could be anywhere I wanted to be simultaneously.'
To withdraw from the body is to withdraw from the reality-decoding processes of the body and that's why the experience and perceptions are so dramatically different.
I am not saying that everyone should take their watches off and cover the clocks, though that is an option if it suits you, but we can change our perception of time by seeing it for what it is - illusion.
You can still function in a time-obsessed society by checking the 'time' to make sure you meet with someone and don't turn up after they have left. But in doing that you can acknowledge that 'time' is a construct of this reality and not 'real' any more than the invisible line in the ocean is 'real' that tells you that you have entered tomorrow or yesterday depending on which way your plane is heading.
That acknowledgement is very powerful because it brings the illusion of time out of the subconscious into your 'here' awareness. It ceases to be subliminal - below threshold - and so ceases to have the power over your sense of reality that it had before.
See how I used the word 'before' there? Our very language is founded on the concept of 'time' and that, too, is constantly underpinning a belief in its existence. We don't have the words to describe no-time adequately because modern language has been developed by the Mind-controlled and the time-obsessed.
With Consciousness in a state of no-time and The Mind locking us into its illusory 'time' you can see how a belief in 'time' is a major factor in our disconnection from Consciousness.
There are many things that come from moving out of past and future illusions and consciously into the HERE and NOW. One is that you start to focus on what you are doing or being and not have that focus diluted and pulled into what you perceive as the past and the future.
'Oh, I wish I hadn't done that'; 'Oh, I am so worried about what will happen.' Regret, regret, regret ('past') and I gotta, gotta, gotta ('future'). How many lives, how many NOWS, are blighted by this?
Most people live their 'lives' as memories of the 'past' and projections of the 'future'. The HERE and NOW, the only moment that exists and through which they can change their experience, just passes them by. As John Lennon wrote: 'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.'
Time and thinking are fundamentally connected, in fact they are different expressions of the same thing, basically. It is thought - The Mind - that constructs and believes in time, not Consciousness. And Consciousness is what? Silent.
It is the silence between the words and thoughts where enlightenment lies, not in the words and thoughts themselves. They can only take you part of the way even if they are inspired and they can - and do - imprison you when, like most words and thoughts, they are not inspired, but repeating bollocks.
Cherish the silence. Cherish the no-thing. It's what you really are.
It sounds impossible when someone says stop thinking because we are so consumed by the constant mind-chatter, but I am now finding it easier and easier to do so.
Yes, thoughts still come in while you are focussed on no-thought, but instead of them being 'you' they are acknowledged as the thoughts of The Mind. You cease to think the thoughts and start to observe them.
And when you do that you realise something by asking a simple question. If I am observing 'my' thoughts, who is doing the observing?? Answer, the real you - Consciousness. The real you is the silence, not the Mind chatter we call thought.
You can then use words to communicate in this reality by describing the insights of Consciousness and not the thought patterns of Mind. You override the Mind and it starts to serve the real you, as the interface it is supposed to be, instead of suppressing that connection as it does with the overwhelming majority.
Like I say, nothing is what it seems. All this noise, all this mind-chatter, and yet the real you is silence.
All these 'things' and yet the prime reality is no-thing. That's why it is true that the Infinite is everything and nothing. Without the no-thing there can be no some-thing, because without the no-thing the some-thing could not manifest.
Put another way, how can there be 'things' without the apparent space between them, the no-thing? It is the no-thing that defines the some-thing. We worship the 'things' when they are just temporary forms that emerge from the no-thing - All-Possibility, the still and silent 'Void' of Love.
Sound can only exist because of the silence from which it comes and to which it returns - the no-thing.
'Can you hear anything?'
'No, no-thing.'
Cherish the silence. Cherish the no-thing. It's what you really are!!!!!
